Interreligious Prayer Space

Our nondenominational prayer space, being built thanks in large part to a donation from the Muslim Jewish Conference, combats loneliness and disillusionment among non-Christian locals who have to travel 25km+ to the next synagogue or mosque, many of which deliver a more radical religious message. Having this space to come together in Unkel fights antisemitism and extremism in the Muslim refugee population, and fights Islamophobia in the native German by highlighting religious similarities and removing the dark mental picture many Germans have of the activities that go on behind the walls of a mosque.

See what the Muslim Jewish Conference has to say about our project here, and hear why Rabbi Michael Even David of London’s Edgware Masorti Synagogue chose to donate to and support the Integrationswerkstatt.
